Bitteroot Fishing Report – 7/13

Dry Fly Fishing - Missoula Montana

L-57

The Bitteroot has bumped up substantially from the rain but, should drop back into shape in a day or two. Long term we couldn’t be happier with this recent rain/cool spell we are having. If your fishing today try streamers and nymphing in close to the bank and in “walking pace water”. Doing a hopper dropper rig into the evening has been consistently GOOD. Evenings have been the best for head hunting opportunities. For dries, use PMDs, drakes, yellow sallies, caddis, Golden stones, hoppers, and other attractor patterns. For nymphs, p-tails, caddis pupae, wonder nymphs, and Pat’s rubber legs. For Streamers use dark bodied buggers and sculpin patterns.
