Bitterroot – 5/2

BR-5-1-S-7The ‘root should be rockin’ today with dropping water levels, sun acclimated fish, good hatches and almost no wind to speak of.  Look for good caddis and March brown dry fly action as the river settles back down.  The caddis should keep things active right up until early evening.  This is also one of our favorite times of the year to pull streamers on the lower river from about Florence downstream.  More refined bodies seem to work best on the streamer presentations down here this time of year.  We like YELLOW!  It should be a dryfly extravaganza up here, river-wide, starting about 1 p.m.   Nymphs either on the bottom or as droppers should get you some action before the fish start looking up consistently.

1/2 OFF Fridays.  50% Off your 1st dozen nymphs and dries!  Every Friday – Every Week

Additionally, all dries and nymphs are $1.95 every day to begin with and nearly all streamers are $2.25 – EVERY day, EVERY week

HATCHES/Flies: Skwalas, caddis, nemouras, March browns, capnias, BWOs. Consider buggers as a streamer option in the slow stuff.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: True run-off generally begins around May 11th. You’ve still got some time!!
