“Ye gods of this land! Preserve my son, the last and only anchor of my house, now settled in Thrace, the land of snow, safe in the keeping of his father’s friend. Some fresh disaster is in store, a new strain of sorrow will be added to our woe. Such ceaseless thrills of terror never wrung my heart before.”

The cooler weather today could bring out the mayflies like the BWO… or it couldn’t. It’s hard to really say. As was mentioned the other day, the Bitterroot has been hard to pin down this season, with things not working/happening when they should, and vice versa. At least you can head down this direction for some bird hunting if you so desire. For dry flies, use parachute adams, October caddis, tricos, Hecubas, BWOs, baetis, and attractors. For nymphs, use prince nymphs, copper Johns, micro mayflies, caddis pupae, san juan worms, etc.
