Bitterroot Fishing Report – 3/10

L-LS-1

Skwalas!!!! They’re here… but not quite.  I’ve heard good reports of fish eating sporadically on top just not any naturals popping yet.  The really consistent action has been taking place with tandem skwala nymph rigs and streamers.  That could change any day now with the spring weather upon us.  Definitely be prepared with some top water patterns.  The flow just above town is sitting at 1360 cfs with a water temp hitting the 40s by mid day which is a great sign of spring.  The best streamer patterns have been krelix minnows, crystal buggers, and big dark articulated patterns. Just like anytime, be safe out there.  The Bitterroot is a definite sleeper so stay aware out there and you’ll be just fine.  Enjoy this beautiful spring fishing!!!
