Bitterroot Fishing Report – 6/1

Rock Creek Fishing Report - 4/10Beginning in April, once a week we will post a brief description of a rig we saw during the previous week that had one of our Kingfisher stickers on the window. When you recognize it as being your car described in our hatch report, stop into the shop and pick out 2 dozen nymphs or dries on us!!

We’ve seen a nice drop in flows on the Bitterroot over the last couple days, especially on the upper end, but it’s still way higher and muddier than is worth messing with (10,000cfs at Bell Crossing). You’re better off heading in the direction of a lake or pond. Lake Como, Painted Rocks, and other lakes and reservoirs in the area are available for some still water action. Small, dark Woolly Buggers, scuds or pheasant tails under an indicator, and parachute adams and Goddard caddis on top should all be good bets.
