Bitterroot Fishing Report – 6/17

Blackfoot River Fishing Report - 3/13 - sage one fly rod

Bitterroot Fishing Report - 4/5

The fishing has been better on the upper end of the Bitterroot than the lower, but as a whole, it’s still not the best option locally. The flow drop is somewhat steady, so it shouldn’t be too long before it starts fishing well again. That being said, fast and dirty water is still a reality out here. If you do fish the Bitterroot, spend most, if not all of your time below the surface. Big, dark tandem nymph rigs with patterns like prince nymphs, Pat’s rubber legs, double-bead stones. Streamers are worth a shot too.

Weekend Fishing Tunes: Death Cab For Cutie, The Photo Album

Send it back a decade or more with one of the best indie rock albums of the early 2000’s.

HATCHES/Flies: Salmonfly, and other attractor patterns, extended bodies and cripples for the green drakes/March browns. Dark, heavy nymphs for subsurface. JJ’s specials, articulated streamers, bead-head woolly buggers.
