Bitterroot Fishing Report – 6/19

L-8

The East Fork and West Fork of the Bitterroot are hands down your best bets with a flow of 840 cfs on the west fork.  The main stem is still fishing sub par with a flow of 7900 cfs but the back and side channels can hold some nice fish if you can get into them.  Streamers and nymphs are going to be your best bet with dark bodied sculpin patterns and buggers.  For nymphs, dunk a pheasant tail, prince nymph, hares ear, micro stone, Pat’s rubber leg or double beaded stone in tandem under an indicator.  Make sure you keep your junk tight to the banks and at the right depth, this can make all the difference in the world.
