Bitterroot Fishing Report – 6/21

Clark Fork River Fishing Report - 4/5

L-DSCN00010

The upper end of the Bitterroot dropped very nicely mid-week, but the lower end has bumped a little bit with the rain. It might not be the best local option, but it’ll certainly fish for you. Focus on nymphing, but you might see some salmonflies and golden stones flying about. Streamers will work too, with dark bodied sculpin patterns and buggers.  For nymphs, dunk a pheasant tail, prince nymph, hares ear, micro stone, Pat’s rubber leg or double beaded stone in tandem under an indicator.

Weekend Fishing Tunes: Weezer, Pinkerton

They love soccer, and they love to rock.

HATCHES/Flies: Salmonfly, and other attractor patterns, extended bodies and cripples for the green drakes/March browns. Dark, heavy nymphs for subsurface. JJ’s specials, articulated streamers, bead-head woolly buggers.
