Bitterroot Fishing Report – 6/24

L-3

The upper end of the Bitterroot is on a slow rise in flows, and the lower end has jumped up in a big way. It’s probably not your best option around Missoula. If you do go out, focus on nymphing, but you might also see some salmonflies and golden stones flying about. Streamers will work too, with dark bodied sculpin patterns and buggers. For nymphs, dunk a pheasant tail, prince nymph, hares ear, micro stone, Pat’s rubber leg or double beaded stone in tandem under an indicator.

Weekend Fishing Tunes: Weezer, Pinkerton

They love soccer, and they love to rock.

HATCHES/Flies: Salmonfly, and other attractor patterns, extended bodies and cripples for the green drakes/March browns. Dark, heavy nymphs for subsurface. JJ’s specials, articulated streamers, bead-head woolly buggers.
