Bitterroot Fishing Report – 6/3

Bitterroot river hatch report

Beginning in April, once a week we will post a brief description of a rig we saw during the previous week that had one of our Kingfisher stickers on the window. When you recognize it as being your car described in our hatch report, stop into the shop and pick out 2 dozen nymphs or dries on us!!

The Bitterroot is continuing to drop at a nice pace but is by no means in good condition.  The flows are sitting around 13,000 cfs and running muddy.  You’re better off heading in the direction of a lake or pond. Lake Como, Painted Rocks, and other lakes and reservoirs in the area are available for some still water action. Small, dark Woolly Buggers, scuds or pheasant tails under an indicator, and parachute adams and Goddard caddis on top should all be good bets.
