Bitterroot Fishing Report – 6/6

Guided Fishing Clark Fork River

L-DSCN0009

The Bitterroot is dropping like a stone.  The water level is dropping so fast it’s displacing the fish and making the fishing pretty spotty.  You’re better off letting this one stabilize a little before you hit it up again.  If you can’t help yourself and need to get out, bring some nymphs and streamers and walk the banks looking for any back or side channels or pocket water.  Streamers and nymphs will be the name of the game with sculpzillas, mouthwashes, krelix minnows, sparkle minnows, and standard buggers will all be good bets in the slower water. For nymphs, drop big stonefly nymphs, Pat’s rubber legs, San Juan worms, big copper johns, psycho princes, and Batman nymphs.
