Bitterroot Fishing Report – 6/8

Bitterroot River Fishing Report - 3/29

Blackfoot, River, Fishing, Report, simms, g3

The Bitterroot is holding relatively steady at 9,000cfs in the lower end, but very up-and-down on the upper end around 5000cfs. This is still higher than the historical average, and clarity isn’t great. Your best fishing is going to be in side channels and back eddies with heavy nymph rigs. If you can swing it, you’d be more successful hitting some of the areas lakes and ponds like Painted Rocks Reservoir and Lake Como. Small, dark Woolly Buggers, scuds or pheasant tails under an indicator, and parachute adams and Goddard caddis’ on top should be your best performers.
