Bitterroot Fishing Report – 7/15

L-DSC_0224

The Bitterroot is finally starting to be consistently and reliably good. Although still a touch high for ideal wading, we’ve been having some awesome dry fly action out here from a boat. For dries, use golden stones, PMDs, green drakes, and other attractor patterns. For nymphs, use pheasant tails, caddis pupae, scuds, small micro stones and Pat’s rubber legs. For Streamers use dark bodied buggers and sculpin patterns.

Weekend Fishing Tunes: The Guru, Pretty Things

These guys from CT put on an awesome show at the VFW a few days ago. High-energy, funky indie-rock. Find them on Bandcamp: http://theguru.bandcamp.com/

HATCHES/Flies: Golden Stones, and other attractor patterns, extended bodies and cripples for the green drakes/March browns. Dark, heavy nymphs for subsurface. JJ’s specials, articulated streamers, bead-head woolly buggers.
