Bitterroot Fishing Report – 7/8

Bitterroot Fishing Report - 4/8

The flow line for the Bitterroot still looks like a stretched-out slinky, but it’s starting to produce some good days on the water. The upper end still seems to be the better choice. Give it a week or so and the whole river could be on fire. For dries, use golden stones, PMDs, green drakes, and other attractor patterns. For nymphs, use pheasant tails, caddis pupae, scuds, small micro stones and Pat’s rubber legs. For Streamers use dark bodied buggers and sculpin patterns.

Weekend Fishing Tunes: Gary Clark Jr., Blak and Blu

Awesome blues and R&B guitarist/singer out of Austin, TX. Also a childhood friend/neighbor of mine.

HATCHES/Flies: Golden Stones, and other attractor patterns, extended bodies and cripples for the green drakes/March browns. Dark, heavy nymphs for subsurface. JJ’s specials, articulated streamers, bead-head woolly buggers.
