Bitterroot Fishing Report – 8/26

L-DSCN1955

The Bitterroot is open again! with the night time lows getting pretty cold, the hoot-owl closures have been lifted on the entirety or the Bitterroot. The Morning fishing has been pretty darn good with lots of PMDs, Baetis, and Tricos. The Bitterroot is certainly worth your time for floating or wading. For dries, use large parachute adams, PMDs, Small baetis, purple hazes, tricos, drakes, caddis, Golden stones, hoppers, and other attractor patterns. For nymphs, use pheasant tails, caddis pupae, mayflies, small micro stones and Pat’s rubber legs. For Streamers use dark bodied buggers and sculpin patterns.

Tuesday and Thursday FWP will be shocking the Bitterroot between job corps and Conner, so try to avoid it if you can.

The following Tuesday and Thursday they will be shocking between Stevensville and the poker joe access, so don’t be there then.
