Bitterroot Fishing Report – 8/2

Blackfoot River Fishing Report - 3/25

The Bitterroot is well above average flows at this point. That should mean good things for later in the summer through the fall, and the wade fishing is still good. Fishing has been god above Darby and around Missoula, but somewhat hard to pin down outside of those areas. For dries, use PMDs, drakes, yellow sallies, caddis, Golden stones and other attractor patterns. For nymphs, use pheasant tails, caddis pupae, scuds, small micro stones and Pat’s rubber legs. For Streamers use dark bodied buggers and sculpin patterns.

Weekend Fishing Tunes: Pele, Elephant

Instrumental indie rock from the Midwest. Very good. Find them on iTunes.

HATCHES/Flies: Golden Stones, PMDs, caddis, yellow sallies. Dark, heavy nymphs for subsurface. JJ’s specials, articulated streamers, bead-head woolly buggers.
