Bitterroot Fishing Report – 8/7

L-DSCN2051

The Bitterroot’s flows and temps are swinging up to there summer standards.  As with everywhere, mornings and evenings are when you’ll see the most productive fishing, especially on top. For dries, use PMDs, drakes, yellow sallies, caddis, Golden stones, hoppers, and other attractor patterns. For nymphs, use pheasant tails, caddis pupae, scuds, small micro stones and Pat’s rubber legs. For Streamers use dark bodied buggers and sculpin patterns.

Weekend Fishing Tunes: Pele, Elephant

Instrumental indie rock from the Midwest. Very good. Find them on iTunes.

HATCHES/Flies: Golden Stones, PMDs, caddis, yellow sallies, hoppers. Dark, heavy nymphs for subsurface. JJ’s specials, articulated streamers, bead-head woolly buggers.
