Bitterroot Fishing Report – 9/11

Bitterroot Fishing Report - 4/21“Ah me, what shall I do? Where shall I end my life?”

Yes, yes, Hecubas, but there are other important matters to attend to. Montana FWP will be doing some shocking procedures on the Bitterroot during the next week days. Tomorrow, they will be shocking from the Hamilton Treatment Plant to Woodside. Later next week (date not solidified) they will be shocking from 1 mile upstream of Bell Crossing to 2 miles downstream of Bell Crossing. On the 15th they will be shocking on the West Fork from Piquett Creek down to Conner. If you have any questions, you can call 406-363-7169 for updated information. Whether or not shocking has a temporary or lasting effect on fishing depends on who you ask. Some think shocking makes fish groggy for a while, others claim that they’ll see fish rising again 10 minutes after shocking. It’s usually best to give it a day.
