Bitterroot Fishing Report – 9/6

Blackfoot, River, Fishing, Report, simms, g3“What is Hecuba to him, or he to Hecuba,
That he should weep for her?”
The Hecuba mayfly is out and about on the Bitterroot. It’s been a little hit-or-miss out there the last few days, but those big fish eating big bugs should be enough reason to go out. For dries, use large parachute adams, PMDs, Small baetis, purple hazes, tricos, drakes, caddis, Golden stones, hoppers, and other attractor patterns. For nymphs, use pheasant tails, caddis pupae, mayflies, small micro stones and Pat’s rubber legs. For Streamers use dark bodied buggers and sculpin patterns.
