Bitterroot Report – 6/13

Rock Creek Fishing Report - 3/27

S-7On the drop these days with a temporary blip of a bump this morning due to the rain.  It was close to fishing very well yesterday mid river, but a day away.  Today may be the day!  Look for mayflies to be the workhorse bug in the humid conditions.  The “Bitterroot Stones” are out and about now too and the river above the forks still has salmonflies kicking around although the fish seem much more interested in alternative hatches at this point.  With the wind on tap for today, the ‘root may be your best option since these fish seem generally indifferent to nasty weather and will usually be willing to sip dries off whitecaps!  Green drake dries with baetis or San Juan droppers should be good.  Streamers on the lower 1/3 of the river should also be much more viable today than yesterday.  If you’re rowing, keep your eyes open, this water is still big and powerful . . .unlike August when it’s small and powerful.  Yeah, always be aware on the ‘root.

1/2 OFF Fridays.  50% Off your 1st dozen nymphs and dries!  Every Friday – Every Week
