Bitterroot Report – 7/18

S-3The midday slow-down is upon us pretty much area wide at this point.  The lower ‘root hit 74 at peak temperature yesterday.  The mid and upper river is staying more reasonable and in the mid to upper 60s.  You’ll definitely be better off for awhile now, hitting the early morning hatches of PMDs and tricos and being off the water by about 1 or 2 just for productivity and comfort’s sake.  The upper river will provide very good evening fishing with rusty spinners and caddis.  Keep an eye on water temps and adjust your strategies accordingly.
