Bitterroot Report – 7/2

DSCN4156The heat is definitely catching up with us now with flows continuing to fall and water temps creeping upward.  Last year, water temps started becoming an issue around the 16th of July and this year, the rivers are running about 1/2 the volume of last year and dealing with near record breaking heat.  Some cloud cover would be nice!  The water is still pretty cold on the ‘root these days which is making for good fishing all day long, but the best of it is early and late in the day.  Hoppers, golden stones, PMD, ants have all been effective midday. Caddis is the name of the game in the evening.  The fish are there to be had all day long if you can tolerate the oppressive heat!

1/2 OFF Fridays.  50% Off your 1st dozen nymphs and dries!  Every Friday – Every Week

Additionally, all dries and nymphs are $1.95 every day to begin with and nearly all streamers are $2.25 – EVERY day, EVERY week

HATCHES/Flies: hoppers in the sun, ants,  PMDs, caddis, yellow sallies,

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Missoula’s best fly selection . . . by far.
