Bitterroot River – 7/13

S-11The Bitterroot has continued to fish well pretty much all day long with a hard slow down beginning around 3.  The evening caddis makes the river come alive again once the sun starts getting low in the sky.  Today’s considerably cooler highs should have your midday fishing even better.  There are good numbers of tricos starting to pop making for some very good early dry action with big fish targeting the spinners later morning.  PMDs and terrestrials have been good prospecting bugs heat of the day as have attractors like red PMXs.  Lack of wind, cooler temps and good hatches are lining up to make for good fishing on the ‘root today.
