Bitterroot River Fishing Report – 3/18

Simms Guide Jacket

Bitterroot river float fishing

With the warmer weather we had last week, the Bitterroot bumped up quite
a bit but is stabilizing fast. With the clarity coming back, you can
expect the fish to be ready to play ball in the coming days. the flows
are hanging around 2300 cfs here in town, which is still a little high
for this time of year. You can expect to find fish tight to the banks
and up in back channels. With Spring marching on, Dark bodied double
beaded stones, San Juan worms, micro stones, pats rubber-legs, small
black streamers, and pheasant tails will be working best. You can still
find some top water action mid day if the bugs cooperate. If this turns
out to be the case, small parachute adams, low riding skwala patterns,
and tiny dark Stimulators will get you hooked up.
