The Bitterroot has stabilized and is holding a flow around 2400 cfs here in town.
With the possibility of rain today, the top water action is going to be
hard to find. Your best luck is going to be with deep tandem nymph rigs
and streamers. If you can find where a tributary dumps in, hammering it with
a San Juan worm and egg pattern combo is an outstanding choice. With the
rainbows spawing you should find a couple browns hanging out and eating
egg patterns. Streamers in darker colors like olive and black are good
choices, especially when fished tight to the banks.
