Bitterroot River Fishing Report – 3/20

Dry Fly Fishing Bitterroot River Montana

Bitterroot River Float trips
The Bitterroot Has dropped about 200cfs since yesterday, and will continue to
do so with the colder weather we're having this week. The clarity is just about
perfect and the bugs are just around the corner. Nymph Rigs are working
best, with egg patterns, pheasant tails, small olive stones and small
olive Pat's rubber legs. Don't forget the San Juan worm! You could
still have a small midge hatch mid Afternoon if the weather and bugs cooperate.
Streamers have also been fishing very well. Big black and olive sculpzillas
and buggers have been getting some serious chases in the back and side
channels. If your planning on floating, be very careful. After the
Pre-Run-off we had last week, there's a serious possibility for new
obstructions.

Skwalas are just around the corner!
