The river is dropping HARD right now after a big time push from the heavy rains we’ve been getting.  With every passing day now, the fishing will get better and better in the receding flows.  Baetis and mahoganies are the guests of honor up here these days and the best of it is mid afternoon.  A comparative lack of wind will help you in your piscatorial quests today as will having a well stocked nymph box.  There is still some color in the water right now and rigging up with tandem nymphs, especially in the early part of the day, will improve your odd dramatically.  Copper Johns, fastwater princes, silli leg stones, tan San Jauns will all be good bets underneath.  When/if the fish begin looking up, a variety of darker bodied mayfly patterns in sizes 14 to 20 should be effective.  We like Lawson and Quiggly cripples on the snooty fish. *The Kingfisher U of M accredited fly fishing class rods are once again available while supplies last.*
