Bitterroot River Report – 9/13

L-1

The Hoot Owl restrictions on the entire Bitterroot have been lifted.

The flow is 321 near Darby, 226 mid river and 470 in the lower flats. It’s definitely a better wade fishing option now, in general, than a floating option although there are still any number of areas that have enough water to float. Today may be the last day for really effective morning trico fishing since cold and rainy weather is supposedly on the way.  The midday fishing continues to be decent with ants, crickets, bees and size 14 cripples and comparaduns.  Putting a size 14 copper John or p-tail beneath your terrestrials will tag you some extra fish for sure.
