Blackfoot Fishing Report – 10/13

L-51

The streamer fishing has definitely ratcheted up a few notches recently and brown or black woolhead stuff stripped just below the surface is turning some monster fish for us with near dry fly like strikes – GOOD STUFF! The dry fly fishing is okay but it has been of short duration with nymphs on each side of the window producing the most fish. We’re getting fish to rise for bigger skittering October caddis (like) stuff in 8s and 10s and mahoganies in the size 14 to 16 range. If you’re chasing numbers, it’s still tough to beat tandem nymph rigs using the standard fare such as double beads, Pat’s rubber legs, batmans and red San Juans.

HATCHES: hecubas, hoppers, tricos, nocturnal stones, October caddis, BWOs, etc.
