Blackfoot Fishing Report – 3/22

Clark Fork River Fishing Report - 4/12

The Blackfoot is hanging around 880 cfs and the clarity is good. With a high temperature of 45 degrees today, you should be able to find some trout and a little bit of fun up here. The water temps are getting warm enough for the fish to start moving a little.  You could definitely see some dry action today.  If you do, you can expect March browns and Skwalas on the menu.  For those top water menu items, use a Rogue Skwala, flush floating Skwala, dark olive circus peanut, parachute adams, march brown cripple, or march brown extended body.  For nymphs, fish a tandem rig with big dark stonefly nymphs, San Juan Worms, egg patterns and pheasant tails. If you choose to streamer fish, big black or olive articulated streamers are an excellent bet for getting some big fish to move. If you want to avoid the crowds and have the chance to fish alone, The Blackfoot is a great choice today.
