Blackfoot Fishing Report – 4/10

Pretty chilly up on The Blackfoot the past couple days. I would look at other options until we see the water temps back up around 45 degrees. If your desperate, Double beaded stones, Pat’s rubber legs, Crown jewels, San Juan worms, Jig stones, and Princes fished under a chubby or skwala have been deadly. Most of your fish will be on the nymph. Steamers have been a good option too, with heavy articulated junk being the best. Double Gongas, Double Dirty Hippies, and Nacy P’s slapped tight to the willows will be your best strategy.

** Boat Launches that are open (or at least doable): Wisherd Bridge, Weigh Station (Game Check), Bear Creek. If your feeling bold, you can also get into Sunset and Harry Morgan. You can put in at Harry Morgan, but you can’t fish until you hit the confluence of the North Fork and the main stem of The Blackfoot. The North Fork of The Blackfoot is closed to fishing until the 3rd weekend in May. The gate is still closed to Johnsrud and Cable Car boat launches. **

HATCHES: midges
