Blackfoot Fishing Report – 4/5

L-28

Browns lake is iced off!

The Clarity on the Blackfoot is a little off, but the flows are low enough to make it worth your while, despite the bump from the warmer weather.  The top water action is coming off pretty decently.  You should get a window starting a little after 1 o’clock pm.  Your best fishing is going to be with tandem nymph rigs until the dries get going.  Pheasant tails, Pat’s rubber legs, fast water princes, regular princes, flashback copper johns, San Juan worms and egg patterns are all good bets underneath.  In the way of streamers, big dark colored articulated patterns fished right off the banks are an excellent choice.  If you see any top water action today, throwing a size 16 purple haze to feeding heads will get some eats.
