Blackfoot Fishing Report – 7/28

Rock Creek Fishing Report - 3/27

L-52

With water temps climbing above 70 degrees we are no longer recommending fishing after 2 o’ clock. We are also cutting back our full day floats down to half day floats. Its time to give the trout a break and protect our local resources for the future. Feel free to call the shop if you have any questions.

The Blackfoot is running 634 cfs this morning and the daytime water temps are peaking out at 72 degrees. Focusing on the early mornings and hitting the water with PMDs and spruce moths right out of the chute is still the way to go. This productive window may get shorter as the daytime highs rise this week so, you’ll want to be off early even though there aren’t any restrictions on this river yet. The lower river, even early, has been giving up LOTS of little fish while the majority of the fatties we’ve been seeing have been mid river or higher. White or tan spruce moths are the good on the upper river. Give them some motion to really get things going. Batman nymphs or something similar is a nearly sure thing on the Blackfoot these days.

HATCHES: golden stones, hoppers, crickets, ants and beetles, PMD’s
