Blackfoot Fishing Report – 8/3

L-85

**The Blackfoot and some of The Blackfoot Tributaries are going on Hoot Owl restrictions as of last friday (7/30). This includes the North Fork, Copper Creek, Montoure, and Morrell Creeks.**

The Blackfoot is running at 579 cfs and has cooled off a bit from these cooler nights. Focusing on the early mornings and hitting the water with PMDs and spruce moths right out of the chute is still the way to go. This productive window may get shorter as the daytime highs rise this week so, you’ll want to be off early since Hoot Owl restrictions are in play. The lower river, even early, has been giving up LOTS of little fish while the majority of the fatties we’ve been seeing have been mid river or higher. White or tan spruce moths are the good on the upper river. Give them some motion to really get things going. Batman nymphs or something similar is a nearly sure thing on the Blackfoot these days.

HATCHES: golden stones, hoppers, crickets, ants and beetles, PMD’s

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: You know we’ll refill your Kingfisher label gink bottles for a buck, don’tcha?
