Blackfoot Fishing Report – 9/12

Bitterroot River Fishing Report - 3/29

The dry fly fishing has been a little spotty with the funky weather conditions as we make the transition into fall. Morning and evening baetis fishing has been decent but mid day has been a little slow with most anglers switching to double nymph rigs. The hoppers are still jumping when the day heats up, but expect that to slowly taper down with the colder nights. October caddis are popping sporadically and fish have been seen chowing them, just not any noteworthy quantities. For dries use tricos, big PMDs, BWOs, elk hair caddis, hoppers, Chernobyls, Orange Stimulators, parachute adams, and purple hazes. For nymphs use Pat’s rubber legs, princes, double beaded stones, micro stones, beer head baetis, San Juan worms, October caddis pupae and batman nymphs. For streamers use big dark double bunnies, sculpzillas, mouthwashes, standard buggers, sparkle minnows and dark articulated patterns.

HATCHES: hoppers, tricos, nocturnal stones, PMDs, caddis
