Blackfoot Fishing Report – 9/28

L-66

The flow on the Blackfoot this morning is 425 cfs and fishing it has been fishing well. The river has been a bit moody in the suddenly warmer weather, especially on top, but you can generally find the bite with some searching. Some days it’s as simple as a #12 or 14 royal Wulff and the next it’s the size 8 yellow stimulator which is oddly effective right into late October up here. If they’re showing you no love on the surface, tandem p-tail nymph rigs have been good right off the bottom as have dark bodied size 8 bugger type stuff. The best of the dry fly fishing is still running from about 10:30 until 3:30.
