Blackfoot Fishing Report – 9/30

Fly fishing the Blackfoot River

The guide reports off the Blackfoot the last few days have been pretty good. The fish have not seemed to mind the bright sun and are still coming up for the dry. Main hatches are mahogany duns, October caddis, and baetis. For dries use October caddis, BWOs, elk hair caddis, hoppers, Chernobyls, Orange Stimulators, parachute adams, and purple hazes. For nymphs use Pat’s rubber legs, princes, double beaded stones, beer head baetis, San Juan worms, October caddis pupae and big green machine nymphs. For streamers use sculpzillas, skiddish smolts, standard buggers, sparkle minnows and dark articulated patterns. Reports are calling for rain this weekend so, bring your streamers and rain shells.
