Blackfoot Report – 10/25

It’s about to get COLD up here which will dramatically switch up the fishing and make you adjust from the no brainer good stuff you’ve been having.  If you want the remaining, “more of the same”, you’ve probably got today and tomorrow . . and maaaaybe part of Sunday to get it done.  The falling temperatures beginning Monday will make dryfly fishing up here much more hit and miss.  Mahoganies and baetis will fish for you midday right now and a variety of patterns from #14 royal Wulffs to parachute Adams will work. Double beaded stones (in peacock) and red San Juans are doing about as well as anything else under an indicator. Streamers continue to be tempting for taking LARGE fish, but it hasn’t been red hot action by any means throwing the big stuff. Still, though, it’s your best option for sticking your “fish of the year” up here.
