Blackfoot Report – 6/15

Salmon Fly Fishing on Rock Creek

S-2Flows are dropping, bugs are flying, fish are looking.  This weather was made for the Blackfoot!  There are tons of salmonflies out and about mid river and higher.  In today’s warm and sunny conditions, you’ll be able to see just how many . . so will the fish!  In addition to that hatch, there at lots of caddis in the afternoons, good numbers of green drakes and yellow sallies to boot.  The lower river should fish well for those of you who love chasing the + 20″ fatties on streamers this time of year too.  Conditions are ideal for fishing the black, greased woolhead type streamers JUST below the surface. One of our favorite tactics that is most productive for about a 2 week period of the year . . . .right now!   You should have a good day of it about anywhere on the river today.
