Blackfoot Report – 6/21

S-1It’s days away from fishing huge on top.  This is not to say you won’t be able to take fish with dries today, but the river is still settling out from the last bump in flows.  There are good numbers of salmonflies on the mid and upper river and lots of drakes, PMDS and caddis too.  Once the flows begin falling and the daytime highs ramp back up a bit, it’ll be game on. Your best bet today, though, is still likely to be tandem nymph rigs or dark bodied streamers.  Size 14 tandem beadhead p-tails are a very good bet this time of year as are smaller black or brown bugger type stuff.
