Blackfoot Report – 6/7

S-2The Blackfoot was giving up some exceptional streamer fishing in the dropping water conditions of a week ago but suffered an abrupt slowdown during the recent temporary push of water we saw.  Things seem to be coming back into shape quickly and we anticipate good stuff by the weekend.  The bright sun will also get the bugs in the air and the afternoon caddis will become more viable.  Salmonflies are right around the corner up here too.  We think your prospects up here are good today and better each successive day of dropping water.  Lighter colored streamers like yellow, peach and chartreuse will be good options.  Deep indicator nymphing with red San Jauns, girdlebugs, bitch creeks, etc.  It’s big fish time of year on the Blackfoot right now.
