The Kingfisher is open today like we always are! Fishing is still solid pretty much all day long on the Blackfoot these days provided you’re lathered up with sunscreen and protective clothing. Wind could become an issue by this afternoon though. The fish are rising to PMDs early, attractors and terrestrials midday and caddis in the evenings. Pulling streamers through the SHALLOW tail-outs of pools has been very effective for us lately and an ant/hopper dry combo throughout the heat of the day is golden. Avoid the lower sections of the river unless you’re ready to be elbow deep in unregulated rubber river monsters.

HATCHES: caddis, PMDs, yellow sallies, river, drakes, hoppers, lots of stuff starting now . . .
PATTERNS: golden stones in sizes 6 to 14, whitlock sculpines in black. Attractor stuff in a size 8 or 10, elk hair or other caddis in a 12 or 14. Double p-tail nymph rigs.
