Blackfoot Report – 7/9

DSCN4085The flow near Bonner is 1290 this morning compared with 1820 a year ago.  If you hit the river at daybreak and get off by about noon, you’ll be able to drift the lower river free of tube lemmings; the fishing’s been good early!  If you’re planning on being out on the water all day, you’ll probably want to get a bit higher up on the river to avoid the non fishing crowds.  The heat of the day fishing has been consistent with hopper/dropper rigs and deep tandem p-tails.  Patience with dark bodied streamers has also been paying off with occasional but VERY big fish.

1/2 OFF Fridays.  50% Off your 1st dozen nymphs and dries!  Every Friday – Every Week

HATCHES: caddis,  PMDs, yellow sallies, hoppers and terrestrials in general

PATTERNS: golden stones in sizes 6 to 14, whitlock sculpines in black. Attractor stuff in a size 8 or 10, elk hair or other caddis in a 12 or 14. Double p-tail nymph rigs.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Did you know that The Kingfisher is exclusively a Missoula owned and operated shop?  Amazing isn’t it.
