The Hoot Owl restrictions on the entire Bitterroot have been lifted.

You should have good fishing on the ‘root today with good trico action on the lower river and fish willing to rise to attractors and hoppers mid river and higher. The trico eating fish on the lower river have been SNOTTY so 6X may be the name of the game. Higher on the river, hoppers, ants and purple haze patterns have been very effective from about the time you hit the river until you have to stop fishing at 2.  Stripping caddis emergers or swinging soft hackles in the evenings will get you some very nice fish.
