Blackfoot River Fishing Report – 3/18

Blackfoot River Float trips

Blackfoot River Guided Float fishing

The Blackfoot is slowly heating up, the flows are stabilizing, and the clarity is coming back.
The flow just above town is sitting around 1300 cfs, which is still high, but not
unmanageable. If you head up the Blackfoot, Dark streamers and deep heavy double nymph rigs
are working best. Placing a San Juan worm behind and egg pattern can be deadly this time of year.
Big black Stonefly nymphs and pheasant tails are a safe back-up just-in-case. Keep your rig tight to
the banks, when the Blackfoot's flows get high, the fish stack up right off the bank.

HATCHES: Midges, capnias, BWOs

PATTERNS: Red or pink San Jaun worms in tandem with size 12 or 14 squirrel tail nymphs. Size 16 or 18 para mayfly stuff

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: You know we’ll refill your Kingfisher label gink bottles for a buck dontcha?
