Blackfoot River Fishing Report - 3/18

If you head up the Blackfoot, Dark streamers and deep heavy nymph rigs are working best.
Placing a San Juan worm behind an egg pattern can be deadly this time of year, especially
when fished just down stream of where a tributary dumps in. Big black Stonefly nymphs,
pheasant tails, red copper johns and hares ears are a safe back up just-in-case.
Keep your rig tight to the banks. When the Blackfoot's flows get high,
the fish stack up right off the bank. The flow just above town is around 1200cfs and still
a little off color. If you're streamer fishing, use dark bodied streamers like black buggers,
Sculpzillas, double bunnies and zonkers.

HATCHES: Midges, capnias, BWOs

PATTERNS: Red or pink San Jaun worms in tandem with size 12 or 14 squirrel tail nymphs. Size 16 or 18 para mayfly stuff
