Blackfoot River Fishing Report - 4/12
Beginning in April, once a week we will post a brief description of a rig we saw during the previous week that had one of our Kingfisher stickers on the window. When you recognize it as being your car described in our hatch report, stop into the shop and pick out 2 dozen nymphs or dries on us!!Up up and away! This week’s winner of the two dozen free flies, just for having a Kingfisher sticker in his window, is a….. (drum roll)Forest Green Toyota Tundra: with the last two digits of the license plate being… 09Drive your rig down to the shop and pick up your bugs! Thanks for being a Kingfisher customer.

The Blackfoot is running high and off color but still fishing.  All of the fish are being caught right off the bank with streamers and nymphs.  The dry fly fishing has been pretty much non-existent with the fluctuating flows, but not impossible.  For nymphs, a pheasant tail, black or olive double beaded stone, San Juan worm, fast water prince or red copper John.  For streamers, Big black articulated streamers are the best bet.  Make sure you keep your rigs right off the bank and weighted.  You may want to have a skwala dry on hand just in case you see some heads rising.

HATCHES: Midges, capnias,
PATTERNS: Red or pink San Jaun worms in tandem with size 12 or 14 squirrel tail nymphs. Size 16 or 18 para mayfly stuffADDITIONAL INFORMATION: You know we’ll refill your Kingfisher label gink bottles for a buck dontcha?
