Blackfoot River Fishing Report – 4/28

L-DSCN1054

The Blackfoot’s flows are just slipping down past 2800cfs and will probably start to rise again later today with the warmer temps we have on forecast.  Streamers and nymphs are going to be the name of the game but you may still see some top water action tight to the banks. For streamers use Dalai lamas, Flash minnows, Sparkle minnows, and anything big dark and articulated. For nymphs use pheasant tails, hares ears, double beaded stones, egg patterns, Pat’s rubber legs, micro stones, prince nymphs, and San Juan worms. Just in case you do see some dries coming off, a purple haze, parachute adams, or flush floating skwala should get you covered. The Higher flows displace the fish into the banks so keep your junk tight to the shoreline and you should wrangle a couple of slippery trout today.
