Blackfoot River Fishing Report – 4/4

Blackfoot River Fishing Report - 4/4
Beginning in April, once a week we will post a brief description of a rig we saw during the previous week that had one of our Kingfisher stickers on the window. When you recognize it as being your car described in our hatch report, stop into the shop and pick out 2 dozen nymphs or dries on us!!This week’s winner of the two dozen free flies, just for having a Kingfisher sticker in his window, is a….. (drum roll)

Blue Ford Bronco: with the last two digits of the license plate being… 58

Drive your rig down to the shop and pick up your bugs!  Thanks for being a Kingfisher customer.

The Clarity on the Blackfoot is a little off, but the flows are low enough to make it worth your while.  The top water action is still slow but you may get a small window starting a little after 1 o’clock pm.  Your best fishing is going to be with tandem nymph rigs.  Pheasant tails, Pat’s rubber legs, fast water princes, regular princes, flashback copper johns, San Juan worms and egg patterns are all good bets underneath.  In the way of streamers, big dark colored articulated patterns fished right off the banks are an excellent choice.  If you see any top water action today, throwing a size 16 purple haze to feeding heads will get some eats.  You can expect to see that start around mid-afternoon if at all today.

HATCHES: Midges, capnias,
PATTERNS: Red or pink San Jaun worms in tandem with size 12 or 14 squirrel tail nymphs. Size 16 or 18 para mayfly stuffADDITIONAL INFORMATION: You know we’ll refill your Kingfisher label gink bottles for a buck dontcha?
