Blackfoot River Fishing Report – 4/5

Blackfoot River Fishing Report - 4/5
Beginning in April, once a week we will post a brief description of a rig we saw during the previous week that had one of our Kingfisher stickers on the window. When you recognize it as being your car described in our hatch report, stop into the shop and pick out 2 dozen nymphs or dries on us!!This week’s winner of the two dozen free flies, just for having a Kingfisher sticker in his window, is a….. (drum roll)Blue Ford Bronco: with the last two digits of the license plate being… 58Drive your rig down to the shop and pick up your bugs!  Thanks for being a Kingfisher customer.

The Blackfoot is going to be a damp windy place today.  With a high chance of rain and a little wind today, you can expect the majority of your fishing to be subsurface.  your basic stonefly nymphs will be a good menu item today.  Pheasant tails, Peacock double beaded stones, micro stones, Pat’s rubber legs, copper johns and egg patterns are all good bets too.  Streamer fishing will be a good bet and a little easier to deal with in the wind.  For streamers, use some big dark bodied junk.  Big black double bunnies, mouthwashes, black wool head sculpins and buggers are all going to hunt for you.

HATCHES: Midges, capnias,
PATTERNS: Red or pink San Jaun worms in tandem with size 12 or 14 squirrel tail nymphs. Size 16 or 18 para mayfly stuffADDITIONAL INFORMATION: You know we’ll refill your Kingfisher label gink bottles for a buck dontcha?
